On October 20, 1918 the 96th Infantry Division would be activated to start training at Camp Wadsworth South Carolina (See http://www.schistory.net/campwadsworth/ and https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=75474). As the cadre was being organized, the war would come to an end on November 11, 1918. The cadre of initial officers and senior NCO’s (noncommissioned officers) would not exceed 3300 men. The Division would not see its ranks filled and was deactivated on January 7, 1919.
